Default carbed 383 lt1

how hard would it really be to make my 383 carbed? I found an intake for it, but im looking more into the electrical part of it.

you will have to get a distributor, opti block off plate, optional electric water pump,the right size carb,linkage,as far as electrical, an HEI distributor is easiest to hookup, tach wire,and the main power wire

one thing i have always wondered, why do you have to ditch the opti to go carbed?
