Security light problem

Security light problem alot latey my car will not start for two or three times in a row the security light keep s coming on . now starting to happen while i drive it but luckly it doesnt stall . i was told it was the ignition ???? any thoughts guys
More specifically, there are 2 wires attached to the ignition lock cylinder in the steering column. They are for checking the resistance in the pellet on your key. After so many years of turning, these wires break. This is most likely your problem, but Shoebox has a variety of ways of testing and bypassing it.

i am having the same problem i sprayed electro contact cleaner in there about three days ago and it hasnt happened since. either the contacts are dirty or this is just a temporary fix but works so far.
^+1 this fixed my year long problem as well. This was after i pulled the ignition and the wires and checked them all. Lucky for me my buddy is a locksmith and did all this for free and made me a new key for cost which was like $2. A hell of a lot better than the few hundred GM charges.
