new engine wouldnt start....

new engine wouldnt start.... got EVERYTHING back together last night.. new engine etc etc....
car wouldnt spin over.... no battery gauge either?
gave up went to bed...
thought about it... i didnt plug in the 4-5 plugs laying on my passenger floorboard that go into the dash...
if i plug those in will my car start? im assuming on them allows a start signal to be sent to the engine, and also communicates with the gauges as far as battery voltage...
