the only special tool you will need is a fuel line disconnect tool. you can get one from autozone.

the job isnt not too bad. Theres 6 bolts on each side. Just unplug any electrical stuff mounted on the intake. unbolts EGR tube. Disconnect the fuel line. Remove the 12 bolts. gently pry the intake and remove it. It helps to have one other person there to remove and install it. makes life easier. clean everything really good. Put the intake gaskets in place. Apply a bead of RTV sealant on the front and back of block. Install intake making sure to drop it straight down so you dont disturb the bead of RTV.

there are different sizes. If you buy the one i posted it will have the 2 sizes you need. Theres only one of those they sell at autozone. One of the lines on the LT1 is slightly bigger then the other

The gasket kit should or might come with the egr gasket, TB gasket and injector o-rings. You dont need to remove the TB though. You can leave it on. same with the injectors. but thats up to you if you really want to replace the stuff or not.

you can take the throttle body and intake off as one piece, but yes there is one between the throttle body and intake, it's like $2 or something from autozone. But listen to joe too he is a BADAZZ, he also basically took apart my top end with my cam swap haha.

shobox is a king as well in terms of needing to find a process of removing and installing things.

i figured while the intakes off might as well clean it up, as long as autozone has that little gasket thats good, i could just make it right
how about the rear of the intake as well as the front any gaskets or just rtv?

Autozone will have them in stock, so will advanced auto, and o'reilly... i used Advanced twice in the passed 3 months for intake gaskets and both times they had them in stock... It was around $25-30, came with injector o rings, egr gasket, throttle body gasket, intake runner gaskets and some black permatex...

You should have NO problem finding the gaskets from Autozone.

Since it's your first time doing this, I'd plan on a whole day to get the job done. Once you've done it a few times though you can have it on and off in an hour or two.

get some copper RTV. That little tube they give you isnt enough. i tried it and it only was enough sealant for the front. Autozone will have it. Felpro gasket kit
