Default Header question

I have a chance to get LT edelbrock headers that are not coated and were never used for less than $100. Is edelbrock any good for headers, and how do they fit? You think this is worth it? Car is not a dd and will not be driven in the winter. Thanks.

I didn't know edelbrock made a long tube header for the LT1! I wouldn't do it. From personal experience and results from some of their other LT1 stuff I bet it would hurt more than help, lol!

Well none that we know of, but Edelbrock is known for making worse than stock parts for the LT1 cars.
But for 100 bucks, jump on that deal.

well they are not brand new. someone bought them a while back and is claiming they never installed them and found them in their basement. I am going to take a look at them but was wondering if they are worth installing or am i only going to have to install a better set after a year or so?

If they're mid length's don't bother, you'd probably want to go with LT's down the road if you did.

For $50, it won't hurt to do even mid lengths...even if you decide down the road to go with long tubes. Mid lengths are better than the stockers for now and you could probably get your $50 back if you sell them when you change to long tubes down the road. I don't see a downside. Worst case scenario, you eat the $50 sometime down the road when you swap to the long tubes if you can't get rid of the mid lengths.

They look like Hooker long tubes. Make sure they will fit your year car most importantly otherwise you will be doing a lot of cutting/welding/modification.

Looks like a great deal on some LT's to me, if there for an lt1, and they look like they are.

All this anti mid-length speak is uneducated bs.

A well-designed set of mids w 1 3/4 primaries are great, and in some applications will work better than a LT.

Anyway, for 50 grab those bad boys but I recommend sending them to jet hot and having a good ceramic coat job done before you install them.

They will last that way, headers on an lt1 is not a job you want to do very often..
