Default mallory 685 box.

Im thinking bout ordering one but have no idea how to hook it up. What is needed to work with opti? Anyone have a write up on how to hook it up. sorry if this seems like a stupid ?.. thanks alot guys

make sure you wire that EXACTLY like the pic... im talkin... make sure you seperate the wires going from the icm to the coil just like in the pic, dont T tap them.

Uhh, you dont just use the msd harness and plug it in?

Im confused as to what else you need to do ..

I just wired mine up this wknd but havent started the car yet.

I was looking into the Summit box, which is a clone of the Mallroy I beleive, as gregrob said above, they just told me to get the MSD adapter... mush easier... of course have not ordered either yet...

i havent really played with it yet, but i dont think it can advance the timing.

my car is on stock timing right now. How much power yall think i will gain na if get it bumped up some.

the adapter makes thing easy as hell its all plug and play. it has two wires coming off off the box that plugs into the new adapter harness. Then the harness plugs into both of the coil plugs then it has one plug that plugs into only one plug on the coil.
It works great!!

The Mallory can not advance timing.

Only retard.

It has a programmable start retard (to make it easier for the engine start).

And a high speed retard, that is activated via a 12V input. Such as for nitrous, etc

MSD harness but you cannot use the same colored wires as the MSD box does. Here this will help

Mallory-----------------------MSD

Red --------------------------Red
Black-------------------------Black
Green------------------------White
Yellow-----------------------Orange
