stranded yet again
I cant figure this out. I need some quick thoughts anything. Im on my way home today to get my school stuff so i can go to class, when my rpms started falling and my gas pedal became inresponsive. The car stalled while i was cruising at 45. I coasted into a subdivision and could not get it to fire back up. It did something similar before and it was the icm. So i walked home and got my unregistered winter beater drove to the auto parts store and bought a new one. I installed it and still nothing. I have fuel but no spark. the plugs wires, opti, and coil have been replaced recently. Any ideas???? anything?? i need my car back asap.

Your sure you have fuel?
If so check the coil, icm (They can be bad even when new) and then its time to accept that the it obviously has High and Low Signals but there might be no spark (Test first at the coil then test at a plug).
Most likely you will find that there is no spark.
Now there is a Fuse that can cause this but more than likely its the Rotor in the Opti has shattered.... time for an MSD Cap and Rotor Replacement.

Use a test light and verify the injectors are firing.
I also told you things you should test IE ICM and Coil go to Autozone its free.
Also Accel Opti's are termed to be known problem cause's.
As I said I have a feeling if your getting fuel at the injectors (aka they are firing) but you have no spark at the coil or plugs yet the ICM and Coil test fine then your looking at a shattered rotor.

Plastic Rivets. I have seen it 3 times so far. Hints why I bought a Dynaspark and had it rebuilt and completely updated.
Every time the top of the rotor was shattered inside the cap I have pics of 2 times.

I did it once in less than 24hrs it happens trust me.
Trust me I did this, every other idea to avoid the Opti esp since I kept replacing them and once I finally stopped fighting it and did a ton of other testing I pulled the Opti and sure enough another rattle can mess.
Thats why I gave you the information I did.
You have fuel injector pulse then you know the opti signals are working or else they would not fire and the ECU would throw a code for high or low signal.
Next if the ICM and Coil test good you check for spark. More than likely you will find the problem to be a shattered rotor.
Like I said I have pics I can post of 2 and it was a brand new cap and rotor I used. It happens. I was not reving high when it happened in less than 24hrs. I was at 3000.
