I find it ironic that the OP misspelled "Failure."

AC delco or dynaspark

Earlier this year I switched back to my stock style ignition from the delteq setup(was now running a mallory685 box). I had a friend who had luck with the accel so I figured I would give it a try. What a POS!!!!!. the ******* thing crapped out on me on the second track pass.

I never had 1 problem when I ran my delteq, I loved it but I didn't want to drop over $1K on an msd DIS 4 system and a window switch. I didn't want to ever think about it again so I went with the Dynaspark. It's been great all summer.

Also, the company AIP on ebay that sells that dragonfire(msd knock off) also sells Dynasparks for $500 with free shipping.

Here is what I did. I went to the local junkyard. Pulled a couple of optis from a couple of LT1s and L98s and swapped out just the sensor. Works a lot better with the mitsubishi sensor. The chinese made ones aren't even a sealed sensor for the circuitry like the mitsubishis. I was able to pop the cover off the back of a chinese made one, but couldn't with the Mitsubishi. Be careful when swapping out a sensor, Definitely need the Reverse Torx deep well sockets and a T8 sized bit.

So for me, AC Delco Optisparks.

Thanks Shoebox, you are the man, however I have come into some money so I'm going to get the Dynaspark made for the LTCC and put the LS1 coils and LTCC on the car and be done with it.

where do you buy these dyna sparks made for ltcc... i bought a used ltcc kit and alls im needing to do is put a new opti in.... but would rahter one custom for the ltcc kit... where can i find these.... sorry for hijacking your thread

edit- i found them... they are twice as expensive as a new delco..... is it worth it to go with the dynaspark for my ltcc system or will it be a waste of money if the delco works fine...??

Hey:

MSD 's quality control must have been downsized, I had 2 of 8 LS1 MSD coils go bad after just 1,000 miles, looked nice but for how much they cost they should last forever. I hope my Imp MSD Opti lasts longer than my old ac one for how much more they cost. My Dynaspark has been really good but I don't want to brag about it, or it will go bad via Murphy's Law. I still think A dynaspark is by far the best Opti ever.. 62,000 miles and counting, and a better choice than the about same price $500+ MSD
