Default shortblock reassembly

I am getting ready to reassemble my shortblock. I bought it complete but tore it down to inspect for peace of mind. My first questions are regarding bearings. Do you think it would be ok to reuse the main and rod bearings? This engine was never fired with them installed. They are clevite. And second is what cam bearings are the best? I removed old to hottank and am not reusing them. More questions to come as I get further. Thanks jeff

If they are new they prob could be reused. I would also use clevite cam bearings

as long as the bearings look good you can reuse them. Best cam bearings out there ar durabond durchp-8 or if you want a teflon coated set add T at the end of the part number.

could you still see the plasti gauge when you took the main and rod bearings apart from where they assembled the block?
