Default 95 camaro lt1 misfire... optispark?

Completed a swap in a 95 camaro, installed a good 94 motor.

Starts, runs and drives but has a misfire at any load or high throttle position. Misfire is accompanied by a pinging sound from the engine, bogging and occasional slight backfire Gets much worse once it warms up.

TACH usually drops out or reads wrong when the misfire is occurring.

New plugs and wires. Swapped in known good coil, engine computer known good, car was running before with a rod knock but no misfire.

I was going to swap on the old optispark but they are different...

Anything else I should check before swapping in a new optispark?

BTW pulling injector connections when the engine is running results in a drop in rpm and increased roughness except on cylinder #2. I unplugged the wire from cylinder two and it seems like it's not getting any spark at all! Car also seems to be running very rich, CEL is on.

Default

i have a 94z that is doing the same thing today. runs fine when it's cold. once up to operating temperature, backfires, sputters, tach all over the places. i replaces the ICM and coil and that did not help.
so the only thing that i can do now is order a new opti. seems the only thing left to do to get the car running.
