Well since you have the egr deleted, you shouldn't have a problem on the back of the intake.

Not deleting the EGR. THe CPX, crank positioning sensor.

Well that too. Mentioning how the EGR on the back of the intake can contribute to the rear intake leaking oil due to the hot exhaust gasses passing through the area.

No reason to deface the block. The block is porous enough to where sealant will adhere and stay in place just fine. The key things to remember is make sure all surfaces are extremely clean, when placing the manifold make sure it goes directly in place and does not shift around once it has been seated on the sealant and check the torque of the intake bolts after several heat cycles to ensure the manifold has not loosened up which causes sealant to fatigue very quickly.

You beat me to it!!! If the china wall is clean/degreased and good sealant is used it will not leak.

I use The Right Stuff and its a bear to remove the intake and to get the right stuff off of the sealing surfaces.

As for a double roller I used a CC double roller and did not have clearance/alignment issues. However, on my buddy Steve's 92 we had some clearance issues (Used a 95 front cover on his car IOT convert to late Opti)

In the picture you can see it lines up very well with the idler. I ground off about 3/64 of an inch so it would bottom out on the crank snout and also hit the lower timing gear. The OE damper looks to be in excellent shape so I'm reusing it. I got the china wall dimpled to aid in stopping intake oil leaks. It's going back together slowly but surely.

Damper

Not an OE damper, probably a parts store replacement.

Been finished for a while now so I thought I'd come back and share this little video. Not much but you'll get the idea.

I'm heading to the dyno this Sat. to see what the outcome of all that work is.

I want to thank you all for your info and recommendations. It was very much appreciated!
