get the code scanned....

spray some starter fluid into the intake and see if it starts easier to verify that you have spark..i'm willing to bet its fuel related. how is your fuel pressure?

try the starter fluid so you can possibly rule out spark

though remember sometimes starter fluid is more volatile than gasoline so it could be weak spark still

anytime my car broke down and still cranked it was ALWAYS fuel related. two pumps and the third time it was the ignition switch HOWEVER it didnt crank at all

good luck!

the spark could be weak. see how strong the spark is and the color whether its that blue we all know and love or if its a bit off color or not.

did you think to pull a plug and take a look at it?

also, what is "good" fuel pressure? what psi did you get on your gauge?
leaking injector could cause hard starts and make it not want to start until you get rid of the flooded condition

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.htm...essure_testing

41-47 primed and also 41-47 at wot. at idle it can be 3-10 less.

obviously you can't get it started to test for bad fuel pump by way of wot dropoff. check your regulator vacuum line for fuel leaking into it maybe. and if you have some time check to see if any of the injectors are leaking. just pull the rail up, prime the pump by turning the key to accessory, then watch to see if fuel drips out

its important to know what your gauge read at the test port because i'm betting that somewhere your fuel is off. how long the pressure held and whether it sent the fuel back via the return line when you shut it off, etc. you could get some needle nose pliers and some cloth or something soft rubber and clamp the return lines and see if your rail and injectors will hold the pressure - if it still drops off then thats your problem somewhere in that part of the system.
