Default Lt1/Lt4 95 Z28?

I have been doing a LOT of tinking about this recently with a buddy of mine. If i took Lt4 Heads and Intake and bolted them on to my Lt1 what kind of power am i looking at? What kind of track times? It will be tuned of course... I have Intake, Such a small cam that i dont even care how big it is.., cat delete and a built A4. What am i looking at and how much is this going to cost me, Roughly...?

Thanks for the input guys!

And i know a lot of you are going to say just get an Ls1 but my girlfriend shot that down REAL FAST, so im doing this in secret if i dont Ls swap my car in secret

The old Gm LT4 kit advertised 425 to the flywheel. Throw a converter in there also,it'll help alot.

old as in GM discontinued lt4 intake. all 96 manual transmission vettes and and a handful of fbodys (about 10? firehawks and like 100 camaro ss) got them. you will not see 425hp at the flywheel with that kit. it will however make close to an LS1 with longtubes power which is about 330 to the wheels. save yourself the money and get your heads ported, a higher stall converter, custom grind cam to match the stall and heads and then a tune. you will come out spending much less than the lt4 kit and be much happier.

Yeah for 3k you can get alot more than that out if your car.

LE2 heads and cam-$1650
LE ported manifold-$200
Injectors-$200
Long tube headers and Y pipe-$500ish
Bigger throttle body-$200
Torque converter and tranny cooler-$500
Mail order tune-$150

That's a total of $3400 and you'll have a car making close to 400 rwhp and capable of high 11's or maybe ever better with good tires. Much better way to go than the LT4 package. And depending on where you get all the stuff from you can get it cheaper. You can find all that stuff here too. Good luck.

Definitely go with custom-grind cam for that and head porting.

Advanced Induction/Lloyd Elliott

I don't think $3000 is worth it to JUST keep up with a stock LS1 with full exhaust. Just my .02. Make the most potential out of your needs and do it once and done right

unless you find a deal on LT4 heads+intake or you are building a clone car, get yours ported and go from there. not worth the brand new price

you can get more power for less $ than the LT4 package

however, youll get more than 330rwhp out of it with the LT4 stuff. i have a LT4 vette thats all stock except for the hotcam and a tune (+ free mods) and the car put down 344rwhp (thats just over 400 at the crank with the 6speed)

imagine if i had thrown some boltons at it (long tubes, catback, EWP, crank pulley, 52mm TB, etc) that took advantage of the heads/cam combo and let it breathe better

lt4 heads are excellent if u can find em used, but for what some of the ported oe castings go for, u might as well get aftermarket castings. like tfs or afr. some quality aftermarket casting for the same price range.

I have LE2 heads with a mild 224/230 cam and most bolt-ons here. My car is auto with a 4000 Stall and I ran 11.80's at 114 my first time out in August heat. That was at 3500lbs. and with a mailorder tune. I had the car dyno tuned and it did 362rwhp/390rwtq with the stall unlocked, locked it has 383rwhp. Taking it back to the track in 2 weeks, should do 11.5 at 116-117 now.

Many people are running the LE2 setups and Ai 200cc packages with great success. They will put an LT4 converison to shame.
