Default What first, tranny or rear end?

I have to get my transmission rebuilt and i have to get a moser 9inch rear end, but which first?

I dont have a lot of experience, so i cant describe the shape of my transmission. It shifts firm except when im about 25 mph it sounds like it really needs to shift but it wont unless i go up to almost 30.

My rear end is leaking but im having no problems at all.

Which is more likely to break first? can i fix the leaking rear end and get my tranny rebuilt first? Tranny is slightly cheaper but i would rather wait and do it when i do the engine just to make things easier, if possible.

Its my daily driver so usually im around town just doing the speed limit, but i dont hold back anything. Sometimes ill just hammer it to take off and leave everyone at a redlight, or if some idiot wont go the speed limit ill hammer it to go around.

I think the tranny is more crucial to your transportation. Get that fixed.

Long as you don't wheelhop(bouncing during a burnout) the axle holds up pretty well behind the A4, the M6 is a LOT harder on it.

Do the tranny first find a good builder and use a good converter. If the builder suggests a 2400ish stall 12" converter RUN, it is a bad sign. If they talk about blocking accumulation RUN. Billet servos are unnecessary, kevlar is a marketting gimmick. A properly built 4L60e does NOT shift hard but rather quick and positive.

i have lower control arms and panhard bar so hopefully im not wheelhopping.

I was going to use a transmission sponsor from here, performabuilt transmissions. hope their good since their a sponsor.

i dont know if a local transmission shop around here could build something strong enough for a built 383 with LE heads and cam.

I would do everything you just mentioned differently.
