I went to the link Stealth Formula posted: http://www.cars.gov/files/official-i...n-vehicles.pdf

I hit control F for search and typed in "trans am" and the first one that pops up says "20th Anniversary Trans Am" in the title, could be listed incorrectly.

Right?! AH WHERE WAS SAN!!! ( Sema action network?) I used to get emails from them all the time.

Actually on the Japan side of things, forget the Supra, I heard a RX7 FD met its fate. Mix that car with some of the LS1's that managed to get destroyed, damn there is my dream car. A LS swapped FD. I wonder what those guys get for mileage, I bet easily 30+ highway with a t56.

Some of the people that traded in them cars need to be beaten repeatedly with a blunt object.

Just talked to my buddy that works at a Chevy dealership. Said a beautiful '94 Z28 just came in for CFC and it even had some nice bolt-ons but they wouldn't let him touch the car.

^^this makes no sense to me.....maybe I'm getting old....I never said anything about a roll......

Now granted the 8 sec. street-able supra was running a TH-400, and then again this was 4-5 years ago....oh yeah and it was on pump gas....

I'd still like to have one in my garage (next to the 'camaro of course)

Gov, could have just paid money to have put new engines installed instead of crushing them.

LT1 cars look nicer than new Camaro and LS1 cars. i wonder how many fbody's got crushed. Its rare to see them cars in the first place, probly much worse now.

in my opinion its a **** program . my "clunker" was rejected because the licence plates
were expired and i owned the car for 9 years . and had the papers to prove it.

lol you must be old, Just an old joke about supra's manly the high hp ones because they might have 900rwhp but usually only run a 12 second 1/4mph do to the way they make there power. Gutless till about 6000rpm then there big single turbo starts screaming like a jet fighter and they are gone, thus the reason they are classified as the ultimate roll racing ride.

Which is why he said the drag strip must do roll racing cause a few of the high hp supras only run 12's.

I wonder if kids getting their first car will be SOL from cash for clunkers. A lot of old cars that would make great first cars were destroyed.

I hated the cash for clunkers program and I would not have done it. However I saw a 98 ls1 automatic trans am in the yard at pull a part. I went yesterday and took the front brakes and spindles off the car. Payed $70 bucks for all of it. The only thing left of any value is the k member and steering rack. I also might be picking those up for a nice $110 and selling them on here for someone who wants to do a ls conversion into a v6 or lt1 car. Its a shame. However all the other cars out there were high mile trucks and suvs from like the late 80s early 90s. Mostly explores,s10s and expeditions.

Yes we do, unless you lied in that thread. You couldn't handle the responsibility that comes with having a used car. You expected to be able to drive it all the time with no issues. Little problems happened, and instead of fixing them or selling it to someone that could fix it for everyday use, you decided to send the motor to engine heaven. Little parts would be ripped off here and there, but eventually the chassis (been looking for a Formula roller myself) will be smashed down.

I would have gladly taken your "lemon" and made some god damn lemonade, as I am sure that 99% of the board would have done as well.
