took the hawk on an errand a few days ago across down during rush hour..car ran perfect until i was almost back home...(about 30 miles in an hour and half of traffic) when the car started shaking a little under acceleration ...the car would also shake some while i was sitting still with my foot on the break..car in gear..the trans was also revving much higher before finally shifting..this is under normal driving. as far as the hesitating shifts, my first thought was low fluid...i checked it..fluid was clean and full. who's got ideas as to what it might be?

ps...car runs fine with transmission out of gear so its def trans.

ps ps...i may have found a good deal on a T-56 to drop in haha...still..i'd like to fix this first. or least have an idea what the problem is.

check TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) its located next to the throttle body. I know it sounds weird but TPS's can do a bunch of crazy **** to your car. Trust me on this one!

Sounds like it's slipping..you'll need a rebuild.

T56 is a definate fix..I've killed too many Auto's to deal with that crap..

The vibration your feeling is most likely warped frictions and steels inside the trans. Time for a rebuild. Did you have a cooler installed?

ugh..well this sux...whats a decent rebuild cost? nothing too hardcore..but not backyard either..

if its over a grand, i'm thinking i might just take this as an oppurtunity to do a T56 conversion

ps..pyro-->..no cooler installed..bone stock tranny

It depends on what type of re-build you want.

If your gonna rebuld it might as well do it right which will be more then 1k, prolly 2k for a fully built one, might as well do the T56 swap if you dont want any auto anymore.

My trans gave out just like yours did. It was fine then all the sudden it would bounce off the limiter under hard acceleration and would rev up with out it going any where. I took the opportunity to swap in a T-56. Never looked back.
