Cool thread. I've got a 1994 I'm hoping to haul to Lansing from Kentucky sometime this year. I thought I had done a lot of work to my car. Now I feel like such an underachiever. I'll buy the beer if you're willing to do all of this stuff to my car.

Get on mifbody.com, great local site!! Thank you!

Will these work for lifters? What's the local parts store usually sell them for?

Ordered the lifters, got them locally for $5 cheaper than summit.

Ordered springs, retainers and locks. $164 shipped. Went with the Howards lloyd recommended.

Then it's off to the machine shop to get the heads milled.
Intake and head gaskets are after that.

Got the ls7 lifters in.

Also, some more goodies!

Got the cover welded up.

That looks a bit better

So the springs I bought that Lloyd recommended are an o.d of 1.4xx and a stock lt1 spring o.d is 1.2xx.

Will I have to machine the seat on the head to make it fit? Hopefully putting a lot of it together tonight

Got a lot done tonight.

Ls7 lifters, spider tray thingy, dog bones, oil pan and gasket, oil drive unit with saver, timing chain, cover and gasket.
Got the heads tore down except for the springs (buddy didn't have spring compressor with him, and the studs, my electric impact wasn't doing the job

A couple of questions, there were 2 little square 90 degree angle bend brackets that were in my "oil pan ziplock" Amy ideas what they are for? I'll try to get a pic up.

Also, I still need to know if the 1.4xx od springs will work on my heads.

You know, the things and stuff that goes in that one place.

Go the housing painted on the EWP. It's better than before. Is there a gasket that goes under the t stat neck? I think this one just had rtv.

The pump has seen better days.

The thermostat seal is all that goes there. No rtv or gasket from GM. I guess a tiny amount of rtv wouldn't hurt anything if you are worried that your old pump is too corroded to seal with just the thermostat seal.

I think you will be fine with the springs without machining, but you may need a spring seat/locater. I'm not sure on that...hopefully someone else will reply.

I ordered intake gaskets, headgaskets and new head bolts, 160 stat. Also dropped off the heads to be milled and hot tanked. Lloyd emailed me and said the springs will work fine with no head work needed.

Picked the heads up tonight!

Got them put on, we didn't have a 11/16's deep socket so we couldn't torque down the rocker studs nor the heads. So that will all be done next week.

I really wish I could clean the intake up but I don't want to strip the fuel rails and the vacuum stuff off. Suggestions?

Questions:
1)where can I find a new banjo bolt seal for the rear coolant crossover? Part number?
2)what do I need to cut on the inside of the valve covers so the rockers clear?
3)I need the torx bolts for the little inspection cover thingy on the top of the intake.
4)I also need a oil drain bolt.
5) my buddy said I should be ok to reuse my stock balancer? Is that ok?

I would get some degreaser on that intake, there isn't really that much connected to it. It's a lot easier to clean it now than after it is installed.

5) What does it look like?

clean that manifold. take pictures from every angle and label where pieces go. Strip everything off and then clean and paint it and you can even polish the fuel rails and strip the paint off of the fins. It will be worth the effort

I gotta find the balancer first

Yeah I think I'm just going to take it apart, it will look like crap putting that nasty intake back on.
