Default .500" OD brass sleeve

Well after asking how to fix the hole in my lt-1 head I was told to get some of this to have headbolt hole sleeved. Unfortunately I live in a relatively small town in Montana and it seems there is nowhere to buy it here, I tried to google it and haven't had any luck. If someone can lead me to a place to buy this online I would appreciate it. I found a machine shop willing to do the work for 15 bux but they don't know where to get the brass tube either. Thank you, Jeff

That's the first I've heard of sleeving a bolt hole in a cylinder head. What exactly happened to it? Well unfortunatly I can't help you unless you want a set of used heads. I have some laying out in my storage out back. Good luck.

Try McMaster-Carr on line.

www.mcmaster.com

"FIND" item 8859K33. It should be a 1/2 OD .472 ID brass tube. Four 12 inch pieces for $10.90 plus freight. You can order online and pay with a credit card. Delivery is usually 1-2 day via ground UPS.

They are plenty of other sizes.

Amazing company.

Any machine shop should be able to machine a piece of brass into a sleeve. My wifes grandfather was a retired machinist. He used to make all sorts of gadets on the lathe in his garage.
