Default What goes in these holes?

I numbered a few holes on the driver's side of the block 1,2, & 3. What goes there or what are they for? Do I just plug them?

I can't remember for sure but as you start assembling the motor it will make sense what goes where. I believe at least one of those bolt holes [maybe #1?] will be the bracket for the AC compressor. Two bolts into the compressor, one bolt into the block.

Judging by this pic of my engine semi-assembled, I don't think anything goes into #2 or #3.

well you were looking at it backwards. First off depending on the year of your car #3 is for the oil pressure sensor unless yours is behind the intake manifold. If it is then #2 & #3 are both plugged. #3 can be used for i.e. a mechanical oil pressure sensor. As far as #1 goes someone else will have to chime in. But i think it goes to the furthest bolt on the motor mount.

Fack - thanks for pointing that out. It may be 9:50am where I'm at, but I still haven't waken up yet.

Like litch2004 said, #3 would be the oil pressure sensor if it wasn't mounted to the back of your intake manifold. If you are not using #3, you need to plug it. #2 is unused and is OK to leave alone - you can see #2 in the pic below.

From Shbox.com:

Trying to find a pic of my motor mount but I do believe litch2004 was correct that #1 is used by the motor mount.

#3 is an oil passage port. The other two can be left open. They are blind mounting holes.

So another words if your OPS is located behind the intake manifold then you can just put in a plug in its place.

With all the pictures I have in my web gallery of my LT1 build and what not, I can't find one good picture of the driver's side of the block.

Numbers 1 and 2 are for a manual clutch linkage which would be used if the motor was mated to an older transmission. Number 3 is an oil galley and should have a plug in it unless your car is a 93. In that case the oil pressure sending unit goes there.

I did find that pic on shoebox's page, but I wasn't sure about holes #1 & #2. The block is a '95 so I'll look for a plug.

You will definitely need the plug.

I'm not sure what 1 is but 2 is the hole where a mechanical clutch pivot ball would screw into the block and 3 leads to an oil passage so you can block it or use it for an oil pressure gauge or other pressurized oil feed port.
