Default chambered exhaust

Ok so I have a 94 Z28, my set up is going to be pacesetter longtubes, no cats, x-pipe, and im really leaning towards chambered exhaust; I love that old musclecar sound. So i guess my question is, what chamber style mufflers would you recommend with the exception of gmmg( i dont want to chop up a perfectly good system)? or does it even matter sound wise?
If anyone has chambered mufflers, how do you like them?

I can't speak of them personally as I don't have them yet, but I am pretty set on some Sweet Thunders, very similar to whats in the GMMG from what I understand.

My 2.5 x pipe and 20" powersticks just showed up saturday. Won't be able to get them on till thursday so I'll let you know then. I have actually cut up a gmmg exhaust (for shipping reasons) and after seeing the inside of the muffler, I'm not impressed nor will I get another one.

GMMG is a chambered exhaust. Aside from the sound, what's to be impressed with?

The gmmg was identicle to a dynomax bullet inside. The only difference between the two was that the gmmg has a crimped case!

And that's bad because....? All I know is GMMG claims to make everything about their exhaust, with the possible exception of the hangers necessary for the LT1.

Buy a loudmouth, put a bullet in it, swap out the tips if needed, and save a lot of money. That's all I'm saying. Just my .02 cents.

There are probably a lot of exhaust that might look the same, but sound nothing alike. Looks can be deceiving.

Did you actually cut the bullet and chambered exhaust apart, compare the insides via measurements etc. to confirm that they are in fact identical?

No I didn't take measurements! I cut the gmmg straight in half. I had a dynomax bullet 3"in/out in my closet with no intentions to use. I cut it in half. The only difference other than size was that the gmmg had a crimped case.

So you actually cut through the chambered exhaust portion of the system in order to ship it?

Yeah. Was an accident. I was cutting the tail pipes off so I could get it into a smaller box and accidentally cut through the muffler. It can be welded back up though cause I had marked the pipes before I cut it. Line the marks up and weld! But anyway, yeah I actually didn't mean to do it but hell while I was there! Don't know anyone else who has been inside a gmmg. I had a dynomax bullet that I was never going to use and cut it up when I noticed how very similar the gmmg was to it. If you got a 2 1/2 bullet, and crimped the case every 6 inches, you would have a gmmg muffler. I'd bet you couldn't tell the difference in sound either. I thought the crimped case was supposed to have luvers or something but it was nothing more than what looked like someone hit it with a hammer. It was just an indention in the case. My .02 is that its definantly not worth the money. I'm actually kind of worried now cause I bought my powersticks because I liked the tone the gmmg had and now I'm not thinking it will sound similar. Oh well I guess. Sorry for taking this so far off topic op!

Man I wish I had some. I already shipped it out last week to the guy who bought it. Sorry guys but it was the same on the inside as a bullet except for the crimpled case. If you've seen a bullet you've seen a gmmg muffler.

I personally bought the medium length powersticks. They are a 20" long muffler with an overall length of 24". hope they sound good. I have a friend who runs the 18...or 20 inch sweet thunders, not sure which ones, and it sounds great but they are a pretty restrictive muffler compared to the powersticks.

Should have that guy take some pictures and post em on here. I had a GMMG a while ago and I'm wondering if they changed the inside...
