Default Stalling when put on load

Just finished a h/c set up. Everything is squared away except when I put it in gear whether on reverse or drive, the engine would start to stall, the MIL would come on and I immediately put gear selector to Neutral or Park to keep from stalling and MIL turns off. Trying to figure out what's going on here. I'm thinking maybe a malfunctioning IAC? Any help and suggestions from an LT1 pro is desperately needed. Thanks

If you're getting a CEL, you need to scan it to determine what's going on. That's why it's coming on in the first place.

Well, it was scanned and there is no code. It comes on and off as mentioned. The pcm somehow did not store any code whatsoever.

Has the tune been updated? The new cam might just need to idle higher and when you put it in gear the idle drops to low to keep the car running.

No update yet, cause I can't even drive it. You're right about maybe the idle dropping too low. I'll call Ion and ask him about that. Thanks for your suggestion.

Have you lost any trans fluid at all? They are just easy things to look at while waiting. You can reset your Iac yourself and you shouldnt really need a retune to up the idle as you already had a set of heads and cam. Your idle should be up pretty high and I bet there is something else goin there.

Can the trans have any affect on that? And yes, maybe I'm down on the fluid a little from the tear down of the cooling lines during the swap. Never even thought about that. Thanks Rob. I'll check on that as well.

Well, I borrowed a real scanner from my transbuilder and I'm getting a DTC33 which is the MAP sensor code. Replaced that and it's still throwing the same code. Checked the wiring and also for vacuum leak around the MAP area, everything seem to be in order. I even opened the tb plate a little just to raise the idle, and it helped some but still throws the same code. This is really getting crazy. Can't even drive her around the block. Help me out here guys!

well since a MAP is essentially a barometer for your intake manifold you are mostly likely just throwing a temporary code since your vacuum is so low when it's stalling out

check for vacuum leaks post-MAF, like possibly around the TB, go on shbox's site and look for the guide on resetting the IAC valve

Double and triple checked leaks after MAF and around TB area. IAC is accounted for. Thanks for looking.

no I mean like probing the wire for proper voltage and doing a continuity test

does that scanner only pull codes or will it read the map mv?

If you sure there's no vacuum leak anywhere and you've already replaced the sensor. I'd check the wiring. Make sure the connection is tight and the wires aren't damage/cut. Use a multimeter to check the voltage to and from the sensor as well as the ground!

She's finally running. After a week of chasing the the problem. Just a simple wiring problem that was overlooked. Now, just waiting for my date with the dyno for some update. And hope to have one more nice weekend day at the track after that. Thanks to everyone for all your suggestions.
