what shift light are you running with your mallory 685? or any mallory?

what shift light are you running with your mallory 685? or any mallory? The reason I ask this is because under the mallory 685 instructions it says "if your tach is a high voltage trigger tach it will require the Mallory Fuel Injection and Tachometer Adapter Part No. 29074 or 29078 to supply the proper signal for the tachometer to operate."
Which shift light, it does not have to be tach with a shift light, did run off the mallory ignition box tach signal? Did you need any special adaptor? Thanks.
