yea i did.im pretty much out of ideas so im gonna buy and msd opti soon just to get it out of my mind that that could be it

yea. i had a spline driven opti. the front cam bearing was worn out and was using the opti as a cam bearing. kept trashing the bearings in them causing scattered spark.

Yowza! I've been rummaging through older posts trying to figure out my problem and seeing how guys with similar problems found the fix. Did you basically just decide to replace it found that happened after it was removed?

i replaced the motor with my current 396 and figured it out later. i never actually confirmed that was the problem but thats the only thing i can think of that makes sense. i went through 4-5 opti and they all had loose rotors wen taken off after a week or 2
