Default torque converter question

sorry if this is a stupid question, but i dont know jack about TCs. Starting last night i can hear/feel a loud sporatic pop coming from the transmission (or so it sounds) whenever i put it in reverse or when i am stopped in drive with my foot on my break...if i let it pop a few times it bogs the engine...if i put it in nuetral it goes away....is it the TC? would low tranny fluid cause this? it shift fine still

also...dunno if its related by slowly letting off the break..forward or reverse there is a jerking motion...seems like this is TC as well

again..dont know crap about TCs but these two issues seem related to me

Whatever it is STOP DRIVING IT. You WILL destroy the other. (TC will destroy tranny or Tranny will destroy TC)

Did you just install a tq converter? did you install a tq arm at all? also check the tq arm mount and trans mount if related at all. As for the fluid you will need to check that asap.

Yeah, a torque converter is cheaper than to rebuild a transmission and a torque converter...At least if you need one, get a higher stall like 3000-3600, and the car will be a blast.

Sounds like the converter might be locked and/or a broken flexplate. When you come to a stop with a locked converter it will bog or stall the motor.

well..although the TC might be going...its not what is making the poping noise..i let the car idle to warm up tonight and it started bogging and popping (cant tell if its backfire or not) while it was in park..so i know its not trans related
