Found answer to engine noise/Need advice
Turns out the tick noise is a wrist pin in my 97 Z28 93xxxk mile. I just bought this car not even 3 months ago. According to 2 shops its a wrist pin in one cylinder and not bearings or anything like that. They pretty much told me its going to get louder and LOUDER until something just has to be done. $1550 for labor if I find a used lower mile complete engine to swap.
Anyone have any advice? They told me to look online for a good used engine I figured you guys might know a website that sells decent ones with some feedback?
Thanks,
Chris

Well they said they checked the torque converter bolts and those are tight. They said they used some kind of video stick and looked at the flywheel/flexplate and they cant see any scratches/cracks on it. The noise seems to get worse as the engine warms up. I pretty much dont hear it until its been idling for a few minutes. They said it doesnt sound like a bearing and the noise is at the very back of the oil pan. Car runs fine other than this but I rarely take it past 2500-3000rpms. Its definitely bottom end internal noise they said.
Ive put like 4000 miles on this car since I bought it at the end of July. I thought with 90k miles and being owned by an older guy it would be good to go. My last 3.8 Camaro went 160k miles until its end 2 weeks before I bought this car.
