cc306 question
looked around, found some information but not happy yet. Can i use this cam with the stock valve train? I am getting my motor rebuilt and I want to make the decision before i take any steps foward. If the cam is to big for stock what would you suggest. i have a 96 camaro(lt1) m6

any aftermarket cam is gonna want at MINIMUM new springs capable of handling the lift
cc503 is great with stock heads and the cc306 is another proven performer. both will be fairly comprable with the cc503 being more optimal for stock heads/cubes as far as powerband goes but the nice thing about the cc306 is if you decide to add heads later it'll only get better
not a big fan of the xfi stuff, there's some decent grinds in there but haven't seen anything amazing come out of them except comments about how they can pretty abusive to a valve train.
my personal recommendation though would be to get in touch with a custom cam grinder like Lloyd Elliot (http://www.elliottsportworks.com) he'll get a cam custom tailored to your needs, goals, and give plenty of great advice on complimenting parts.
