Head gasket question
I am really confused about this. I thought they would have been the same size to maximize coolant flow. Is it to control the flow of coolant leaving the heads too son?
Its quite a simple yet very smart idea, leaving the coolant in there longer keeping the heads cooler.
One of my water ports has a little pit that was missed by the machine shop, its right at the outer edge towards where the cylinder bolts go through. Water will try to get in between the head and the gasket, but should not anyway since it will all be clamped down flat.
Now since the heads have already been surfaced, I don't want to weld it and get another clean up.
Would I be able to fill it with some high grade extreme temperature silicon, its only 10 thou deep n about 30 though long, just for the extra insurance.
