Alright this is my first post as u can tell. But i Have '97 firebird trans am. yeah it has the 5.7L. Just parked it in the garage due to the fact that i live in Minnesota and its gettin cold and well the two dont mix well. But as i went to pull it into the garage it wouldnt start? Its done this before but i thought it might be the fuel filter. but i guess im wrong.. i hooked up the code reader and get P0441 which is the evap incorrect purge flow.. Could this be the reason why its not starting? Im no noob ive used google i just need some more opinions??? Any and all help is greatly apreciated.. Thanks in advanced

 

I doubt it is why there is a no start. The code only has to do with emissions.

I would check ignition first, if its cranking.

 

Its cranking.. if i let it sit and go try and start it, it almost wants to...define ignition??

 

Hey

Ignition = Opti, plug wires, ICM, coil,wire, plugs, and all wire connections to them.

Other no start conditions, could be fuel pressure, fuel pump, fuel filter and grounds.

Alright, ill go take a look at all of that.. thanks, i got all winter to fixer up so no rush..

 

Alright another dumb question... im gona start with the plugs and wires.. Is that a good starting point? I figured she needs them neway?? and if so what should i look into?

 

Yea..if it's due for a Tune Up that's the way to go.

Do you hear the Fuel Pump Priming when you turn the Key on?

 

Yeah im pretty positive it is aint got ne help ta turn the key and listin but it is....???

 

You can hear it by yourself.

 

Its deffiently not the pump or the filter. changed it 2k miles ago
