???s on my build What rod bearings and main bearing should i use. The motor is a 355 with forge rods and pistons. Also what timing chain set and oil pump.. Please give part numbers. thanks
I used Clevite H-series bearings.
The timing chain will be dependent on what type of optispark and water pump setup. If you have a vented opti and an electric water pump, you can use a double roller such as the 3146 from Cloyes (do a search to find the specifics). If you are staying unvented, your options are fairly limited to a stock set (although if you're just doing a mild 355 a stock set will probably be fine). Make sure you replace the sprockets too.
The oil pump will usually be builder preference. Either way go with the Melling Select series (10554 is the standard volume/pressure, 10552 is the high volume/pressure). They are slightly more expensive than their OEM counterparts (M155 and M155HV) but have a much more robust casting. You will also want a hardened oil pump shaft to replace the stock one with the plastic coupler. My builder recommended a high pressure/volume pump (10552).
