Default First time on a dyno (mostly stock)

Local shop had a dyno day on saturday so i decided to go and see where my car stands. First pull was the best. 282hp/329tq. The second pull was 280hp/323tq and then the third pull was only to about 4800 and backfired a couple times 255hp/310tq. Needs a tune up bad. Any suggestions after a tune up on the cheapest way to break 300?

What were these numbers corrected to? Thats very high for a stock motor with only a catback and a straight shot intake.

pretty much. also has a larger y pipe (3") and a hi flow cat. So its 3" from the manifolds back. Not sure if it makes a diff on how the power is transferred but it has an aluminum ds and 3.73s. but those have no effect on power, do they?

I guess so. lol. I dont know **** about ****. The graph is in no way smooth. Ill try to load it up in a lil while. It looks bad. Very wavy. So most likely the 282 came from a spike. Peak hp does'nt mean much, Its about consistency from what i understand.. (?)

Either way i wanna get some longtubes and do a few more bolt-ons. i.e. tb bypass, airfoil, and ewp. Then look into head and cam pkgs.. Any problems seen with this route?

my 6spd lt1 camaro put down 262whp/285wtq with just hollowed cats.
Installed long tubes, ory, borla cat back, cai, and a mail order and it put down 290whp/325wtq so your numbers aren't to bad from what i see.

262/285 is just slightly above average spot on for a stock M6 LT1. 260/280 IMHO is average.

If you had spikes with a M6 car on the dyno, something is wrong with the car or dyno. M6's dyno very smooth compared to A4's. Just post the graph and we will comment and ask the dyno operator if the numbers were corrected. Ideally, you want to post SAE corrected numbers for a fair comparison and comment.

Hey:

93s always make more power... its that speed density thing LOL.
Pretty good stock numbers, depending on where you live, buy a good set of LPP race long tubes, when they come out , dual hi flow cats and get a tune chip from Madtuner or Pcmforless deleting air and egr and you'll be tearing the track up. It really cleans up the engine bay on 93s, but deleting air and egr has no hi perf value other than looks and ease of getting to things.

Tune chip, 160 t stat, Ewp, 1.7 7/16" nsa rockers with supporting springs, hardened guide plates, 7/16" studs, and correctly measured 5/16" hardened push rods, with the LTs and dual cats should get you over 300, on that dyno with those readings.

I know it is either fuel or spark. Im gonna start with the basics. Plugs, wires, and Opti. Just for peace of mind. Then i need to check the fuel pressure and work from there..

According to the graph posted, the numbers were corrected to SAE. With respect, the torque numbers (323RWTQ) are stupid high given the mods you have and that is also taking into account 1993 speed density. That dyno seems extremely happy given the details provided plus the possibility that the tune is not even optimized.

Now about the spike problem. Seems like ignition to me and you are on the right track. Get some MSD super conductor wires and delco plugs.
