Default 355 Random Q&A Thread :)

My plans are to build a 355ci LT1, with SRP forged pistons, Scat forged rods, 4 bolt mains, stock crank, stock ported heads, cam, and a direct port 300 shot. Basicly I want to check and make sure that the parts I am going to buy throughout the coming months are correct. Thanks in advance.

First ones up are:

SCE Gaskets 011062LT - SCE Pro Copper Head Gaskets

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCE-011062LT/

I know the stock bore is 4.000", I am going to have the shop take it to 4.030 with the forged pistons. I could not find a head gasket on summit that listed the bore as 4.030", only the above which are listed at 4.060" What's the deal?

Also:

ARP 134-4001 - ARP Pro Series Cylinder Head Stud Kits

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARP-134-4001/

Just want to double check and make sure that these will work with stock heads. Summit says yes, but someone may have had an issue with them

Thanks!!!

Gaskets are not a problem. They all have significantly over-sized cylinder holes for nearly all applications.

That said. Dont buy gaskets till you engine builder has time to determine what is best needed for your specific application. Depending on how much the block is decked and the heads are milled, you might over do it.

Dont know on the heads studs, but most still use bolts. Most however use studs on the mains.

you'll have to run the pistons .015 in the hole with those gaskets, why not run a .040 mls gasket and run them .005 out of the hole?
