Default Good LTx article in the Dec.09 issue of Popular Hot Rodding

Check the Dec. 2009 issue of Popular Hotrodding. On page #74 they got an article called "LT1 Cam-O-Rama". Yes I know it is pretty an (paid) advertisment for Edelbrock's LT4 topend kit with Edelbrock's version of the LT4 heads and intake and heads. But it is still interesting none the less.

The heads flowed 250 CFM's intake, 187 CFM's exhaust @ .600 lift . I know the usual suspects like AI and LE etc. can can do way better than that with stock castings.

They hit 500 HP @ 6400 RPM's on the engine dyno using a 377 ci stroker w/ Comp Cam 242 intake @ .050 .542 lift cam. But the real interesting part was they hit 430 HP(@ 5900 RPM's) and 464 TQ (@ 4200 RPM's) using an Edelbrock cam that looks like one of those old Lingenfelter(LPE) "Baby Cams" 218/218 @.050 525/525 lift 112 LSA.

The cam was that big???

500 flywheel from a 242 duration cam is not good at all .
