Default X pipe location

where would be the best place for me to put the x pipe? my duals run along the passenger side, then are dumped in the middle right before the axle

I've always been told to find the hottest point in the exhaust and place the H or X pipe at that location. Mine is located just past where the driverside pipe crosses over to meet the passenger side one just as it goes straight. this is only because there isn't a lot of room under a 2 dr blazer with a 110" wb. I'm not runing cats and my muffler is just before the pipes go over the rear. So its probably where my old cat was.

It's just in front of the muffler in this picture exhaust

i would say that any where near halfway between the rear axle, and rear of the headers will be sufficient for your car. Or just right below the front seats of the car... my h-pipe is centered on the car and just behind the front seats

The x pipe should be located as close to the collectors as possible, from what I have read in the past. But I have also heard the hottest point of the exhaust, but that should be the collectors or the most restricted point of the exhaust.

On F bodies, its hard to get a good x pipe setup with the damn TA in the way of everything and the floor pans not being designed for dual exhaust, but it can be done. A blazer would be super easy minus the gas tank on the drivers side.

I have my x pipe after the tranny crossmember, but anywhere in that area should work out fine

mine is on the passenger side right at the point where the stock tunnel brace bolts up (I used a Lakewood DSL and had it tucked up underneath). the exhaust is basically routed just like it would be with an ORY, except it never goes down to one pipe if that makes sense.

technically the merv's x-pipe starts like 6 inches after the headers... its just a longer x

hell you could even say his whole exhaust system is an x. it looks good!
