This is bs.

I guess that means 2 things for me:

1. I'll never buy anything from Dart

2. If I get ready to make big, big power it will be LSx

well i had my future dart ltx turbo engine planned but now thats trashed so now im back to finding a way to squeeze all the power i can out of the ol' ltx block. i cant believe we come this close to almost recieving what alot of people in this section have been dreaming for (more cubes) but oh well. so i guess go make another lsx block since they already have like a shitload of blocks already. with the ltx we only have one choice on which block to use. so its no wonder why the lsx have alot of 9 and 8 second cars is the choice that they dont have to use their factory blocks guess im just mad that i cant have me a 427 ltx now

Really? You wouldn't ever buy a Dart product just because they made a smart business decision?

I worked every day off for the past 3 months to save money for that 427 LTX. I am really disappointed about this, was really looking forward to the chassis twisting torque.

I think the money can now go towards getting a bike.

I can appreciate the business decision. It doesn't mean it is dead forever though.

I wouldnt buy anything from Dart because I like companies who actually invest into the ltx community.

Not companies who promise to do so to get exposure for their company and then back out when it comes time to produce.

Look at Trickflow, they didnt come make a big deal about their new heads. They simply designed a product that will move the ltx platform forward (hopefully), and brought it to market.

Maybe they will see an oportunity here and come through where Dart couldnt.

But yes, Dart will be my LAST choice for anything going forward.

This really sucks, oh well I guess I'll just use EFI connections 24x SBC kit on my Bowtie blocked 421 and get an SB 2.2 top half and turbo it to build an LSx killer.

^^^ definitely cant. Its not that big of a deal really. Its a good business decision. LSx is the market. Though it sucks its reality. I just cant wait to stuff an LSx into my 3rd gen.

Let me clarify "LS1 killer" why is everyone bailing on the LT1 and going LSx "to go really fast" right. Well what's the LSx's big advantages, better flowing heads and bigger cubic inch options right. Well if you take a 4.125" bore gen I block and build a big ci stroker then take a set of SB 2.2 heads (which will out flow just about any LSx head), intake, shaft rockers, sr cam etc now you have just removed all of the LSx advantages. So I have no reason to switch to an LSx platform is all I'm saying, there have been many fast cars and powerful engines before the LSx came into existence.

Sad to hear the news but I am not giving up on the LTX. The LTX has run low 8's forced inducted with a stock block and now high 8's on nitrous. Maybe the stock blocks are strong enough?

It's not much of an investment when you are losing money. I think it was a smart decision for them to go ahead and make sure the costs of tooling would be worth it. I like the LT1 but I also like the idea of performance oriented companies staying in business.

As for Trick Flow, it is a lot easier to sell cylinder heads than blocks. Like Tony said, the stock block has gone under 8.10 in the quarter mile already. How bad do you really need that Dart block?
