a 58mm is way too big for a stock or mildy modified motor...you wont see any power gains...some people even claim a loss in horsepower from a 58mm TB...

With full bolt ons and a tune u'd MAYBE want to upgrade to a 52mm...

58mm is waaay too big.

I partly disagree. There's a difference between a 'claim' in HP and actual proven dyno info. Are you speaking from experience or internet hear-say? I'll go with the latter because you don't have one listed in your mod list.

Depending on your mods, a bigger throttle body may not be worth the extra coin. If you have the money to spend, just go with the 58mm. On a fuel injected application it's almost impossible to go too big, if you're tuned for it. Lots of guys just throw one one without tuning and hope for the best. Fact is, a 58mm won't hurt you. While it may not be the best HP per dollar modification, it will still add a few HP on a stock/mild application (and more on heavier modified engines).

I've been running a Professional Products 58MM TB for over a year now and it has worked flawlessly. About 2 years ago I sold a brand new P.P. 52MM TB to a member here who hasn't had any issues with it either. Can't say the same about my previous $400 Holley Shame because it was a beautiful piece of billet which I'd rather have than a chinese product.

the summit brand TB's are made by professional product. fyi.

i have a 58mm PP on mine. Just a couple small little bugs had to be worked out. It liked to stick closed after cooling down. it took a minute for it warm up and open and close normal. It seems to be better after a 2-3k miles. Also, the return spring isnt as strong so it makes the pedal feel real light. other then the normal tuning i really hadnt had a problem with it.

i didnt really gain anything at the track. it might of made my 1/8th mile stronger but its hard to say. There was a nice throttle response difference that i like.

there was just a thread on this comparing it to the holley 58mm. and 52 is worthless. if you get anything get 58, and you need nothing bigger than stock on a otherwise stock or all bolt on car really. not much of a difference.

heads/cam, stroke, just step to 58
