You are supposed to store a car with a full tank of gas to prevent condensation. Water in your fuel is much worse than gas that has just sat for 3-4 months. Ive stored my car every winter with a full tank of gas have never noticed any issues with fuel quality in the spring.

I agree with running it low at the track, thats some BS. but even stock pumps are more prone to burning up if you run them too low. The fuel is its coolant.

This is good stuff to know though... my pump just recently died so i will be replacing it this winter. I can get a new stock one for free so i think i am going to go that route.

old gas will definately have the car run like **** especially when it sits for say atleast 3 months...But you can alwasy siphon it out and put new **** in, its better than buying a new pump and having to install one.

I would replace that pump before you spray it. Honestly I don't know how it is keeping up with that LE2 kit now! LOL

I would definately step up to a 255 pump especially for spray or do what Larry did and have him build you a fuel cell for spray in the cleanest engine bay ever,lol...

Ive been storing my car with a full tank since 2003 and its always ran as good in the spring as when i parked it.

IMO it takes longer than 3 months for gas to go bad. Not trying to argue about it though, fuel quality varies from place to place.

As for the rears its a simple install and from what I hear these work really nice for the money.
The stock ones were not that easy to get apart. I honestly think you have to soak the shock mount nuts prior to removal. I also had to use an impact to get anywhere, due to rust. You do have to have the springs compressed prior to taking the nuts off.

In my case I wanted to re use the shock mount since they are expensive. I replaced the plate that goes on top of each shock mount. (moog part) (this is the plate that supports the mounting nut BTW)

No directions with mine, but I got 4 sets of bearings with mine along with unnecessary hardware. I was confused by this, and you only need 2 bearings to install. The rest just goes on like stock assembly. Your obviously going to have to setup a spring height that you like, and then set your rebound and compression settings.

From Racetronix's website:
"Keeping the pump constantly immersed in gas within the bucket can extend the pump's life by not allowing it to be exposed to open air. Open air within the tank contains moisture and in time will cause the pump to rust / seize up especially if left to sit for long periods of time without the tank topped-up (i.e. winter storage). "

I don't want fill my car up with gas and let it sit a few months throughout winter so I got old gas in it come spring. I also want to be able to run the tank low when I go to the track. This is bad news to me, as I put my brand new pump in months back on maybe a 1/2 tank. I still have not ran it yet.

What bearings are you talking about? I just got the shocks and springs?? I doubt rust will be an issue with my car garage kept with 33k on it.
Also how did you set the rebound and compression as a baseline?

There should be some flat style bearings that sit on the base right underneath the springs. They help you adjust the spring with less friction. Here are some pics I took.

This is the pick of the stack they gave me.

They also gave some extra stuff I didnt need since I was using the stock mounts.

let me know if you cant get the bearings, and I will mail you my extras.

BTW no idea on the base line settings. I am putting engine in today, so I am not there yet.

You need to stick them shocks on and come over here to Atco, New Jersey. The end of this month will be -2000 DA every single day. Put you damn close to the 10's!

The caps are for a different spring that does not utilize the stock mount from what I read on here. Another guy in the non LT1 section has them assembled with the caps.

Mike, don't be surprised if the nuts on the shocks are rusted even if it is a garaged car.
As far as factory pumps go I wish you well, but mine came from the factory with a loud one that was replaced. Down the road the next one couldn't keep up with the H/C swap and as you know, mine is a low mileage car too.

Ill will do something with the pump once I spray the car. As for now the stocker works great.
Im not to worried about the rusted shock nut, even if it is bad. Car has only seen snow once and rain a handfull when it was my DD so it cant be that bad. Ill find out in the morning.
