Default out with the old in with the new

Still more to come. I cant wait to fill this thing once it back running:

More goodies came in:

Also if you cant tell these are AFCO *300 rating:

the other goodies have already been installed:

more progress:
No more breaking the OPS in the factory location behind the drivers side header:

New UMI lowers w/ QA1 rodlink, QA1 SA, AFCO *300 spring with spring cup, as well as new upper strut mounts since the catory one was all rusted up:

Also new upper bushing and ball joints. I have new tie rod links but cant get the damn things off. So when i get it aligned I am going to get them to do it.

Speedinc custom 93 fuel line relocation kit:

And once again great quality work by UMI:

o ya it was a lot lighter than that crap. All the factory stuff was bent and twisted up. All of this was basically from factory torque. Just goes to show how cheap this stuff is. Im still waiting on my front/rear QA1s to go along with everything else.

LCAs/relos/tq arm made a HUGE difference on my setup, I bet it puts a huge grin on your face.

What sway bar you running? My car was pulling to one side pretty hard on launch and a fat Spohn(UMI didn't make one at the time) solid 25mm rear bar fixed that right up . Bit stiff for the street and the *** likes to try to come around if you take turns in your car like its an s2000, but at the strip a good rear sway bar is worth its weight in gold.

I still havent made up my mind what i want to run yet. It will still see some street drives so it will either be a drag bar or one similar to what you are running. Everything is already solid QA1 bushings so im not worried about roughness or sound.

Hey Ryan based off of what I already have installed what would you suggest I run for a rear sway bar? By the way this was the first time to ever order from UMI and I was very pleased with the product as well as how fast I received it

Hello,

I am very glad to hear you are pleased with the product and service

I will be glad to help.. what type of driving do you plan on doing with this car? I see you are getting QA1's so I assume some drag racing? If so how much and how much street use?

Let me know and I am glad to help. Thanks!
Ryan

Well the car does see some street time, even though it hasnt been out of the garage since May of last year. The street use would be maybe down to the store, local car show, or down to our local f-body meets during the week. Other than that it will be on the track. I will be running skinnies up front as well so this will be seeing very little street time. Maybe a few hundred a year. I would however prefer for the part to not have to be welded to the axle in the event that i do have to resort to driving it more often on the street than i would like. I like in southeast Texas so it is very seldom that i would be seeing any snow. With that being said i hope you can help me out.

Thanks, Mike

Thanks for the reply Dave

Since the vehicle is going to see limited street use and mostly track use I feel the drag bar would be the best for you. Also since the vehicle is running skinnies in the front it is obvious the car is not going to be a handling car, so regardless I don't think the drag bar will offer you any negative handling experiences. The UMI drag bar is a bolt on application at the axle, the axle mounts feature CNC machined grip teeth into them, this prevents them from shifting on the axle during movement. There is welding required at the frame, however the bar can be bolted on 100% and driven to your local shop for the little bit of welding. We also offer different axle sizes, if you would ever change the rear end out all you need to do is purchase the new U-bolts from us... all the other items stay the same.

I hope that helps, we are offering 20% off our drag bars right now so this would be a great time to grab one

If you have any additional questions please ask. Thank you!
Ryan

yes i am, it has just straight connectors on there right now but i think i am going to remove them and upgrade to triangular. I am also thinking about getting the UMI tunnel brace w/ drive shaft loop as well as their trans crossmember w/ the torque arm relocation bracket. I figured since the factory crap was so warped and twisted with it being on a factory engine it needed to go. I will be building a blown 383/396 in the future so it is time to have something to handle it. This way when i get the engine built it will just be put in and ran.
