Strange 12-bolt, 33 spile pro axles, spool, 4.10 gears and I was progressively leaving higher and higher...the break occurred at ~5500 RPM.

Mine broke launching around 3K with ET Streets. Along with twisting the axle splines, grenading the r & p and trashing the posi unit I also twisted the splines in the d.s. slip yoke. I had a Denny's steel unit in there first but it was not the N.R. unit. I think it had a spicer slip yoke. After twisting that I sent it back and upgraged to the billit yoke which makes it a N.R. unit per Denny. Since then I've tweeked that one also.
I've been thinking of using the line lock while staging to slightly preload the drivetrain. The S.T. is just brutal on parts when dumping the clutch and will find the weak link in short order.

Trust me I know you guys pain and thats why I have an auto. LOL I like stick cars and think they are badazz streetcars but i have a hard time sometimes at hitting both shifts without hitting the limiter and I have an auto much less throw a clutch in the mix. I helped build a 420rwhp 2001 LS1 T/A(TSP Heads/cam package, longtubes, Moser 12bolt 4.10's, dyno tuned) felt like a mid 11second car on the street to me, bring it to the track bam 12.30's@115mph? I drove it, it spun the tires once, bogged the next thats the only two times I got to run. Same thing but neither of us were used to the car, setup everything was new but I gained some respect for you stick guys. My exact words when i got out of the car were " I have never worked so hard to go so slow ever before" duh! The weather was hot/humid, track slippery, inexperienced drivers, dog ate my homework, enough excuses, it's all in the setup with a fast car auto or stick car. Either you have or don't every time you go to the track so you must learn to adjust your car to the conditions at different tracks on different days, easier said than done b/c it takes time, experience and seat time to do it. I am learning every time out and I notice you learn more if you keep records of all your passes. later Clint

I had an aluminum ds break on Heffners dyno back when he was in MD at 6200 rpm...had a front loop but no rear loop...That incident drove me to get a Spohn TA with front AND rear ds loops....Good luck with the car it looks and runs great!
