Tachometer Install

Installing an aftermarket tacho, and instructions say to connect one of the wires to the ignition coil's negative terminal. Where would this be on our LT1s?

I looked up on Shoebox's schematic diagrams for the ignition, there doesn't seem to be one, apart from the earth leads that go with the coil mount stud. Do I connect it to the wire going to the OEM tach? Or does it piggyback a wire on the ICM?

There's more than one way to do it. I've used the white wire coming off of the Ignition control module in the past. Works fine.

Will that white wire also work for hooking up a shift light?

use the white wire coming off of the pcm blue connector I think it might also be number 22 but dont quote me at all. But the pcm is the best place to get tach source.
