im suprised with 470 RWHP at NED you only went 119 in the quarter, my old camaro with 348 RWHP @ 3460 race weight did 11.9 @ 115.6
sounds like a bad ride though, maybe ill see you up there this summer, i have a 396 as well.

I think whats holding me back a bit too is that I still dont have full functionality of 1st gear. I really have to feather first gear out of the whole to get my speed up so i can whack the throttle in second. Thats got to be costing me some time there. Also, after the 1.8 ft time, I thought i had blown the rear end. It was garbling on decel and making left turns sounded HORRIBLE. So took it apart at home and ring and pinion were fine along with center section and backlash but bearings are toast. I bought a rebuild kit knowing this would happen so once I get it together i'll be back up hopefully within the next week. Next year i'll be running a 9 " with MT ET streets and possibly 100 shot on race gas. For now though, im gonna try to get it dynoed again before I go up and i'll post up results for verification purposes.

You need tire and gear to optimize your power. With that output I wouldn't do anything less than a 15" wheel and 27" drag radial with gears to match.

Exactly. Don't worry about judging someone's dyno numbers by the first visit to the track. Seat time and weather alone will have a pretty drastic improvement on track numbers. My first 396 made 490rwhp. The first trip to the track (summer) yielded the best of a 12.2@119.98. By the end of October and with more seat time and cooler weather, the car was running 11.3@126 (NA) with zero changes to the tune, suspension, or tires.

Not trying to judge, but WHY spend all of that money on a build just to run Sumitomos?
I'd say get a rear ASAP when traction actually happens or if you can't afford it I'd just try a budget approach of a girdle and crossing your fingers
Very badass car though. You will feel much better when you will be spanking my future mild H/C/I ls1 c5
