Hey:

I, As well as you , hope the balancer is it, and thats the fix, sounds similar to what mine did, but mine was at higher RPMs then started to go to a wider range, 5500 6000, then 5000-6300 and then I fixed it. It was more of a deep buzz, I could feel it in the steering wheel when driving, real bothersome and annoying. I replaced it with a new SFI unit. it was then real smooth again. No problems since. The old one was loose enough to spin on it self.

Update:

I am going to stop one tick shy of calling it fixed.

I installed the stock balancer. No change.

I then installed a new set of NGK TR6's (OMG I fuggin hate putting LT1 plugs in) and did not feel the vibe when free revving it in the garage.

I then drove it and humped on it pretty good and the vibe is no where near the intensity of what it was before. Before the change in the ash tray jingled pretty good and of course you could really feel it.

Now the change jingling is not near as intense and the vibe is far less intense as well.

Plus the car feels even more powerful especially up top.

And it idles smoother too.

I think there is a very good chance the #2 spark plug boot was loose and that was the heart of the problem. The plugs all looked excellent and were consistent one to another in terms of burn pattern.

I will drive it some more tomorrow to ensure its good to go. What remaining minor vibes I feel are what I would consider very normal for a h/c loud exhaust 400HP motor.

Thanks guys for the help.

Hey:

Well I guess the checking the Plugs was the right suggestion.
but couldn't you here that without the car moving? Or was it
only making the occasional contact while being driven.

Its not bad at all. All I do is unbolt the starter, to get the 2 rear pass side plugs the rest can be done easy from the top if you GRIND down a plug socket and use a 3/4 wrench on the tough ones, where a ratchet wont fit

guys, if you do anything to these cars under the hood, invest in a set of gear wrenches. seriously, you will fall in fricken love with them. especially doing plug changes. in love dudes, in love.

Yeah I do remove the alt and starter, but the #2 is still the MF to get out and get back in due to lack of access. I spent nearly a half hour on that one alone. The others are cake.

I had vibrations like that twice both times they went away with a new clutch installed, the weird thing about it was that they looked fine just a little worn

Problem is absolutely resolved.
One more bonus. My idle BLM's as well as some other low load BLM's are 128/128.

Now hows that for spot on NON-WOT tuning.

Quick Reply: Engine vibration. Not driveline related. Responds to RPM's.
