i just got a new one also seeing how i broke mine putting the lts in. Ill have to wait till summer to see if it works or not, but did any one that has the sensor above the oil filter have problems with it touching the drivers side header? If this is a problem what can you do to fix it?

If anyone needs one with the 1/8 inch thread that goes on back of the intake LMK I have a NIB one for $35 shipped. I got the wrong one from GMParts Direct and didnt feel like sending it back so just had them send me the right one and kept the wrong one. I have the one that goes on bottom of the car

No because it has a thick heat shield that goes around it

Its a thick piece of rubber with what looks like foil on the out side of it. I pretty sure its made to handle all the heat

I just snapped mine off putting in LT headers too. Does anyone know what the gm part number is? Also, that thick rubber shield, how does that come off? I don't want to break anything worse than I have already. Thanks in advance. Its a 93 T/A btw

It simply slides over the sensor, just be careful because the wiring in that area on my car was kinda crappy looking for what ever reason. You have that sending unit and oil level sensor in the same neighborhood over on the driver side of the motor. They also have a socket specific to removing that sending unit, you can get the socket and sending unit at any auto parts store.

I have issues with the aftermarket ones too. Every one I have used (current one from Advance), the needle seems to get sluggish and get stuck. Its not the guage, its the sender doing it. Friggin wierd cause one second it responds quickly and fairly accurately and then the next it gets sluggish.

Mine was touching the header, burnt though the shield, and almost caught fire. Be careful.

My rubber piece started melting too, i finally got a plug and an aftermarket sensor and relocated it behind the intake manifold, that spot is much better.
