Default Help with installing new elbow. Update again! I got it on!

So I bought this.

I tried to install it earlier today and I cannot get the rubber housing to fit around the metal part of the throttle body on my car. No matter how I try it just won't work. It took me an hour to get it around the elbow.

I was hoping someone here knows how to install it?

I understand that these things need to be air tight but it seems a little ridiculous. I'm assuming I'm just being an idiot and doing something wrong. Any help will be much appreciated.

I have one that's extremely similar... shouldn't take very long, unless the silicone sleeves that come with that one are undersized or something. Try a dab or two of grease on the inside of the sleeve?

Put a dab of soapy water on your finger and rub it around the edge it needs to go on. I had a similar problem when I installed my 52mm TB. It slipped right on once I did this.

Hey:

I went and got a Fernco. I put the Fernco in the shop microwave, for about 45 secs, it made it soft and pliable, and then put a little detergent soap on it, slid right on and when it cooled down (wear gloves) it sealed great, easy on and off after it hardened up, conformed to it really well.

I've been trying for the past three hours to get this thing on. I've microwaved it. I've boiled it. I've lubed it up with tons of different things. My hands are beaten up and bloody. I don't understand how to get the damn thing on. It seems impossible. I'm beginning to wonder if the seller sent me the wrong sized rubber housing thing.

I am very confused with this so far. No matter how I try I cannot get the rubber housing on the throttle body and the elbow at the same time. How are you supposed to manage that? I can get it on each of them alone but trying to put it on one while it's on the other is impossible. I need to be able to get a hold of it and spread it over the opening. That's not possible while it's attached to either. I honestly hope that I am just being a moron. This is driving me crazy and is extremely infuriating.

(Captian Obvious here)

Dude - it sounds like you got an undersized unit; go to the silicone hose site (via the above link posted be the other member) and simply purchase one from them that fits.

I can tell you their stuff is of a much higher quality that the typical ebay stuff; as I've purchased both in the past.

Don't stress too much. Sorry you got a bad piece.

Is it really so obvious that I should have to spend more money on something that should work as is? Sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
