Default Quick Guideplates ?

Hi guys/gals im going to be switching over to NSA 3/8 stud 1.6 Harland Sharp rockers .I was wondering if the Trick Flow 30400623-8 guide plates are the right part to use or if you guys have any other brand you reccomend ? I just want to make sure im getting the right parts before I order it. Thanks in advance for the help it is greatlly apreciated.

Those are the same ones I used on my build, so yes.

Wow!!! Thanks for the quick replys everybody. Well i decide to bite the bullet and upgrade to 7/16 studs and rockers and save me the trouble down the road. Thanks for all the help LS1tech !!!!

You're welcome. 7/16's studs add stability to the valve train, and will stand up better to more aggressive cams if you go bigger down the road.

The cost of the rockers usually isn't that much more, if any, and the studs themselves are cheap too.

I used ARP's FWIW.

im just asking not trying to argue w you but ive been using 3/8 studs at 8k plus RPM for a long time and never had a failure. w a solid roller at 600 plus lift . dont u think it`s overkill on a semi mild cammed car that`s efi and most likely wont ever see any crazy RPM ???

I don't think it's overkill. You're giving up some control of your valvetrain and valve events running 3/8 studs with a SR cam. They are flexing for sure, and IF you run them long enough one will probably fail someday.

I totally agree. Especially at 8K plus where a stud girdle or a shaft system is called for.

for the extra 30 bucks or w/e to buy arp studs why wouldnt you upgrade if your building a motor? its like putting in a new came without changing the bearings lol

95% of people who do cam swaps don't replace the cam bearings, FYI.
