looking for a cam for dad for christmas
I would suggest the LT4 hotcam kit. I got one for my father and he loves it. That cam with the vigilante 3600 is and 373 gears is fun. The LT4 has a nice lope and it's very street friendly. From what I hear the LT4 hotcam doesnt make the power that the some of the other cams like the cc 503, 306 and the lpe 211 or crane 227, but those cams only make 10-20 more hp. The hot cam kit cost about 600$ and it come with springs,1.6 roller rockers, locks ect. If you are just doing a cam swap only the hotcam is hard to beat for the price. Are you leaving some HP on the table? Yes you are. is 10-20 HP worth it? you have to decide that. Now if you were putting on some ported heads I would say use one of the cams I mentioned a LE cam or a cam from AI which I have. I hope this helps you out. By the way im in Rochester also.
