umm yeah, having to RTV the valve seals is the problem . Did you lightly tap them into place with a socket and a rubber mallet? if not thats why there coming loose or popping off. you need to NOT RTV them. jeesh

RTV on the valve seals is not a good thing. They press-fit onto the valve guide.

ONly on decel will it blow blue smoke out the exhaust to indicated bad- vavle seals!

Maybe you have a bad intake gasket not sealing properly.

You were supposed to lubricate the seat on the valve guide with merely a drop of oil, which is just to help the valve seal slide into its place with ease.

I guess you have some valve springs to remove

Neither of those would cause that. How could rocker studs cause it to burn oil? Lol think about that.

The intake bolts dont call for any sealant either, just the gasket...

Your RTV'd valve stem seals are the issue IMO.

Some heads have the rocker studs/bolts that are drilled into the intake runner. This will cause the oil to be sucked around the stud/bolt threads. Pontiac Edelbrock heads have this problem. Some SBC heads have this problem also.

You have to use thread sealant on the intake rocker studs or risk the chance of burning oil.

Only if they were heavily ported.
Im 99% sure stock heads dont need any sealant on the rocker studs. Lloyd made sure I knew wich ones would need them when I got my heads back from him, by putting black Xs on the stud holes that go into the runners
