Default Air foil.. Useless correct?

I have seen dyno results with no gains on TV but I just wanted to make sure you guys agree that it is worthless.

Like I said they show 0 HP on the dyno so like you said maybe .0001. I would rather use the 15 in fuel to get there!

I have one but bought the car with it in there. Guy was claiming it makes the extra 10hp it claims too (As if I cared to listen, the car is going to be completely different when I'm done with it)

He claims to have felt a difference.. but people lie and dynos have proven its minimal effect.

It works. But a dyno is not where you'll see the gains. Take it to the track and run back to back runs with it. There will be a gain, small but a gain. It helps when the car is moving.

With a car sitting on a dyno and no air being pushed in you wont see the gains. I have no idea how much you could really get from one but like said already it would have to be measured at the track

$15 per horsepower isn't bad. Someone on here had some CFM ratings for it and and if i remember correctly the airfoil actually hurt airflow a little at low rpm but had a respectable increase at WOT.

the way i see it, all the big throttle body companies who put countless hours into r&d integrate air foils into their throttle bodies, so it has to atleast do something. if you find one for < $15, i would pick one up. people waste more money on dumber things, like a k&n air filter... so why not.

After running two of these i have noticed up top the car pulls smother. I ran one on my full bolt on, cam and P&P heads car and another on my buddies 383, 847cam, patriot heads and all the fun stuff and i could really tell on his car from a back to back run it was smother up top.

I think I once read they were worth like 20-30 cfm. Got rid of mine after having the stock TB ported to 52mm. Now I wish I would have kept it and modified it to work with the ported stocker.

This.

If you can get one cheap, it certainly won't slow the car down.

http://www.ws6.com/mod-4.htm

Mine came with a BBK 58mm, so I never got a chance to dyno with/without a foil.
I doubt there's much to gain, although if you can find a used one for sale cheap and still have a stock intake, go for it.
There's got to be a reason all of the aftermarket units have them built in.

That can be accredited to something as simple as engine/coolant temperature. There is really no way to document precise results like that with so many variables.
