LT1 Identification and advice
Hey all,
Well I think I may have got myself an early Christmas present. I have an offer for a LT1 and 4L60E that had been swapped into another 72 Cutlass before it was rearended and totaled. Everything is there from the swap, wiring harness, computer, hoses, mounts, even a spectre CAI. My question is how can I tell the difference between the B-body LT1 and the F-body LT1 (only seen it once and was more focused on getting the brand new disc brakes off of it to swap onto mine). I don't know a lot about LT1 except for a friend of the family who had a 96 Z28 that kept dying from broken optisparks. Are the B-body's all iron and the F-Body aluminum headed?
For fueling I figured I would go budget and get a plastic tank out of a 96 impala and use bolt it in.
Regardless, what would the best budget bolt-ons be? I figured I'd due a tune up first and for most, put on some LT's, full exhuast, and figure out what the computer is so I can get some tuning software.
Oh, and all this may be going in my 1972 Cutlass S
Thank yall in advance!
Michael

The bolt-ons you mentioned are spot on - exhaust first, then intake.
