what do you mean a grand for a shortblock if i build it myself? i know nothing about putting a bottom end together as far as tolerances and clearances.

right now i'm leaning towards either of these

A. 355 with forged rods and pistons, just a 2 bolt main and LE heads and cam

B. buying a complete motor. i will post a link to one i found and see what you guys think

I would go with option 1. Put your money into the heads as they limit how much power the car can make. The stock crank, forged pistons & rods is a very solid bottom end. Maybe stud the mains but, there are lots of people going really fast on a budget shortblock.
