Couple tings folks need to consider. A brand's QC can change over time, Eagle was real popular for a long time and there absolutely are cars out there making huge power on their parts. If it was a crank sold 10 years ago though what does that have to do with what they sell today?

Another consideration is these days we are making more power than ever before, so what worked 10 years ago might not today given all the extra power.

6-7 years ago the fastest NA Impala was a solid roller LT4 398 with FAST, a TH400, 5 gallon fuel cell, etc. a RACE car, ran 11.50. These days my car runs 11.56 in OK but not great air with so much "less" into the build. With time power levels change.
Heck I remember the first heads/cam nitrous car into the 11s, these days such a setup should be 10s.

I thought about that as I was typing my response. Hopefully Eagle has remedied their discrepancies with their cranks. I can only reference what I purchased in 2005.

The forged have QC issues that only lead to failure when the machinist fails to do his job.
Cast. The crank was bought back in 06, I think, so maybe(hopefully) it's a little better than the new stuff.

I wasn't implying that it would make a 383 I was saying with that setup you could get 400-450 RWHP if set up right and be more durable than a 383 with a cast Eagle crank.

A good machinist makes a huge difference too. Have to remember before the aftermarket was so big a LOT of race builders were based on carefully prepared factory parts. You CAN polish a turd to some degree, Mythbusters even proved it.

Eagle sucks period. Buy a new crank and protect your investment.
